Our story

Why I made PaperDenDen

Hi, I’m Johnny.H, an engineer.

At work, I handle PDFs every day: engineering documents, contracts, quotations, and sometimes ID documents.

Online PDF editors are convenient, but they all ask you to upload your files to someone else’s server first. With documents like these, I just didn’t feel comfortable doing that.

So I built my own tool: your files are processed on your own computer and never uploaded. That tool is PaperDenDen.

Meet P-Ji

I love pixel art, little chicks, and anything cute. PDFs are all about paper, so I created P-Ji (P吉 in Chinese): a pixel chick living in a nest made of paper. “P” comes from Paper, and “Ji” (吉) means good luck.

In the app, P-Ji keeps you company while you wait, works alongside you, and hops with joy when the job is done.

But P-Ji knows his place: he stays on the app screen and never appears in the documents you save.

  • Waiting with you
  • Working alongside you
  • A happy hop when the job is done
  • Holding your file

What I stand for

  • Offline file processing: your documents are never uploaded
  • Originals are never overwritten; results are always saved as new files
  • One-time purchase: no subscription, no ads
  • Simple, fast and reliable, ready when you open it

I hope it brings a little cuteness and a little peace of mind to your workday.

I made this with care, and I’m happy to share it with you.
